I got sick leading into last weekend, so sitting through the rain game on Friday was not much of a priority, despite my dedication to the sport. I heard from another photog that it was not much fun anyway… no mud. Apparently, the same guy who designed the drainage system for the White Sox park also designed the Illinois soccer field’s system. So, that means the field has to take around 2 inches of water in a half hour for any water to start standing. After hearing about this factoid, only part of me was disappointed for missing a very unique variable to playing soccer.
