Safari Reading View

This entry is part 3 of 9 in the series Assistive Technologies in OSX

Reading web content can be very distracting.  In Safari, you can eliminate ads and design elements that distract students.  By using Reading View, students can read just the content of an article, blog post, etc..

1. Before Reading View

For example, this snapshot of my Safari window shows many ads and a scrolling bar of other articles at the top.

2. After Reading View

By turning on Reading View, I get the headline, main art and article in a clean screen view.  Simply click on the Reading View button to the left of the address line to activate Reading View.

3. Adjust Reading View

Adjust Reading View settings and change the background of the screen by clicking on the As on the right of the address bar.  You can adjust three settings in Reading View in Safari 9: 1) Size of font; 2) background color and 3) font style.
