Focus Supports in Safari

This entry is part 8 of 9 in the series Assistive Technologies in OSX

For those students who are easily distracted, there are a few plugins and add-ons to Safari that can help students stay focused.

1. Get Safari Extensions

To find Extensions that can help students focus, navigate to: https://safari-extensions.apple.com

You can also always find a link to this website from within Safari’s preferences.  From the Safari menu, click Preferences.  Then, select the Extensions Tab.  To go to the Extensions gallery, click Get Extensions.

2. Search Safari Extensions

Use the Search bar at https://safari-extensions.apple.com to find the Extensions.  Then, click on the Extension logo to read more about it and add it to Safari.

3. AdBlock to Limit Web Distractions

AdBlock can be added to limit the number of ads a student sees while navigating the web.  It can also be a useful tool for teachers who want to limit YouTube ads from displaying before playing clips online.
