- New Series: Bridging Teaching and Learning into China
In June, I traveled with a handful of colleagues from my district to teach students and train teachers in China. This was a unique opportunity for me to bridge two of my passions — travel and education! Our partners on this trip, the Chinese and Cultural Exchange Center (CCEC) and the Creative Academic Network (CAN), tasked us with supporting technology integration, project-based learning (PBL) and STEAM education efforts that were budding in Chinese schools.
Through this series, I explore how these educational movements were playing out. More specifically, I focused on how the culture of Chinese schools struggled to adapt to constructivism and inter-disciplinary studies. Through snapshots and stories from each of the campuses we visited, I hope to dig deeper into my experiences with teaching and learning on the other side of the Pacific.
